There Are A Lot Of You

I am sitting here this morning drinking a cold cup of coffee working on wrapping up some work from what can easily be noted as the absolute busiest month in Lampstand’s baby life. One of my original muses traveled back to WI to visit me and my lens and we quickly found ourselves reminiscing about some of those infamously titled “back-in-the-day” moments.  She had been there when I first created a Lampstand Facebook page and shared, begged and minimally harassed people to “like” it so we could get a total of 30 likes. When we got the thirty likes we had a mini text party and celebrated like a couple of champs.  Today, as I write this, I am almost blown away with the idea of having over 500 likes on that same page.

To say I am incredibly grateful for all the love and support I’ve experienced on this journey is an absolute understatement.  So many people took a chance on me and so many continue to do so such as Ashley who is pictured with this article.  As I shot these I kept saying, “I just want to try some stuff. I have no idea if it will work, or what it will look like, but I just want to try.” Without flinching this girl just got on board my creative train and let me play.  I have had women crawl in cold algae infested covered ponds and lakes, I have had them wipe mud on their face, I have asked people in white pants to sit in the dirt and I have made a certain couple roll like logs in the sand. Together we have made some beautiful things and in all honesty our fair share of happy flops. I was blessed with recognition from the Wisconsin State Journal’s madison.com as one of the top photographers in Madison.  I have shot my first wedding leading down the trail to what has led to an influx of incredible couples sharing their day with me.  I have had people let me into their workplace and their heart to share the story of their craft.  I have a husband and family that has supported the crazy emotional roller coaster, goofy schedule, and the nonstop daydreaming that accompanies an artistic brain. I have been blessed.

I look forward to creating more things with you, experimenting, learning, growing and telling stories with you all.

This journey has been incredible and I have every single one of you to thank for that. I cannot wait to see where we all go next.

xoxo
